We have enough mom guilt these days. Let’s take a shift and look at the world a bit differently. What if you didn’t judge and, instead, you imagined a world where the guy riding your bumper on the freeway is really in a rush to see the birth of his baby, or the rude person at the store just got the worst news of her life and is having to navigate chores and deal with trauma at the same time, or that mom who is looking at her phone is…actually an awesome mom. Let's talk about Diastasis Recti:
Diastasis Recti is a pretty common condition that can occur during pregnancy, after birth, or can even be caused by rapid weight gain or a large amount of visceral fat. The right and left sides of the Rectus Abdominis (what you know as your abs) muscle spread apart at the body’s midline causing a gap of 2 or more finger widths apart. This interrupts the integrity of the abdominal muscles.
