I have amazing friends who create amazing mom-hacks! Here’s one of my favorites for keeping the kids entertained on planes and at restaurants!
As a health coach and personal trainer, I hear a LOT of excuses. And that’s fine! People always apologize for having an excuse but I see my job as that of someone who is there to hear you out and help you puzzle through it so we can find a solution that FEELS good.
Pride gets a bad wrap these days. I get it. It can really stand in the way of meaningful interactions, trying new things and personal growth and development. But I want to talk about pride in a different context.
And how do I know all this, you might be asking? Well, it’s part experience working with a huge variety of people and personalities and finding successful approaches for each of them, it’s also part research and reading late into the night about this stuff (Im a huge nerd about healthy living!) and it’s part based on my own experience as I struggled through years of disordered eating and body image issues.
As I’ve now been working with clients for over a decade to help them achieve their goals, I have come to see a lot of ways people are sabotaging their healthy living efforts through their approach to working out. I can tell within minutes of meeting a new client if they will be successful or if they will get stuck trying to climb over the barrier their attitude toward workouts has created for them.
S.WELL POINTS are a way to track all the little ways you can make a difference in your health every day. These are to remind you that healthy living doesn’t have to be a huge adjustment or major change to your lifestyle. There are plenty of ways you can have a healthy day even if you have an ice cream cone or skip your workout! Learn more about them and download the app here!
My journey from being an elite athlete to a mama. It’s more relatable than you might think!
We have enough mom guilt these days. Let’s take a shift and look at the world a bit differently. What if you didn’t judge and, instead, you imagined a world where the guy riding your bumper on the freeway is really in a rush to see the birth of his baby, or the rude person at the store just got the worst news of her life and is having to navigate chores and deal with trauma at the same time, or that mom who is looking at her phone is…actually an awesome mom. Try it out! It makes the world feel so much better! Check out this post I wrote for the Mid Peninsula City Moms Blog!
